Offered in this lot we have a Dietz Acme inspector lantern originating from the early to mid 1900's. The lantern shows a all metal construction aside from the glass globe at the center. The lamp was used by inspectors to check trains for damage or maintenance issues before it left the station. The piece is marked in a number of areas first being the back of the lantern is marked "Dietz ACME Inspector lamp New York. U.S.A.". It is marked "Dietz" across the top and the glass reads "Dietz Fitall New York. U.S.A.". The lamp shows good condition overall with some rust and wear indicative of age. The piece measures 13 1/2" tall by 8" wide.
