Offered in this lot are four advertising china plates from the early 1900's. The first plate is from Joe Matteucci : General Merchandise Family Liquor Store Phones Ind.8329 Bell 80 Great Falls Mont. This plate is in the style of a hand painted plate with a green boarder and four red roses and stems the company information is in gold lettering. The phone numbers listed on this plate date it pre 1950. The next three plates are advertising callender plates. The first plate is from Meeteetse Mercantile Co. of Meeteetse Wyo. The plate bears the callender of 1909 in green around the edge, with the color portrait of a lady in a hat in the center. Compliments of Meeteetse MercantileCo. Meeteetse Wyo. is in gold. This plate has a scalloped edge and a gold band. This plate measures 9 1/2" across. The next plate is from The Shore-Newcom Company Miles City Montana. The Shore-Newcom Store opened in 1900. Owned and operated by Thomas Shore and Wirt H. Newcom, the store handled mercantile goods. By 1922, the company had grown into the third largest general merchandise business in the state. The Shore family continued operating a department store late into the twentieth century. The plate is from 1909 and has the callender around the portrait of a lady. The months on the callender are in red with holly and berries around them, the boarder of the plate and the company name are in gold, the lady in the center is wearing mostly lavender. On the back of the plate are two holes for hanging the plate on a wall. This plate is 9 1/2" across. The last plate in the collection is from Globe Jewelry Co. Butte Montana. The plate is from 1911 and has the months of the callender in a circle around a batch of purple flowers. In t a larger circle around the callender is another of clocks showing the time in twenty-one different cities with Chicago in the top center showing noon. The plate has a gold boarder and measures 8 1/2" across. All these plates are in good condition for their age of over one hundred years.
