Included in this lot we have a set of automobile mechanic carbon scrapers and original case originating from the early 1900's. The collection consist of three scrapers and one original box. The carbon scrapers display hand forged oil tempered steel construction with wooden handles and metal bolsters. The scrapers where a common and needed tool for early auto mechanics and where used to remove built up carbon from heads and engine blocks. The box displays cardboard construction with metal reinforcement on each corner. The box is marked "One Set No. 207 Carbon Scrapers Hand Forged and Oil Tempered Cant MFG. Co. Chicago, Ill., U.S.A.". The tools and box are set into a simple display case. The piece shows good condition overall with some wear due to age. The scrapers measure 13 1/4" long with the box measuring 14 1/4" long by 2 3/4" wide and the display case measuring 7 3/4" wide by 14 1/2" long.
