This lot features an early primitive painted chest. This chest shows great workmanship, with a dovetailed construction and hand forged hardware. The chest has its own lock and key. The interior is decorated with wall paper and has a small cubby with a lid. These chests were common in the American west for traveling on stagecoach. This chest is in good condition for its age, showing some wear. It measures 36" W x 19 1/2" D x 18" H.
