This is an early hand crafted tight weave wicker fly fishing creel. The creel shows a very tight weave with wicker straps around. The piece is in overall very good condition. One of the lid connections has been repaired. There is a wicker latch loop to be able to secure the lid of the basket, and a small hole on the lid. An angler's creel is designed to function as an evaporative cooler when lined with moss and dipped into the creek in order to keep the catch chilled. Caught fish are inserted through a slot in the top. This creel measures approximately 11" x7"x4" and the hole on the lid measures approximately 1" x 2"
