The lot features late spontoon pipe tomahawk with beaded drop attributed to the Southern Plains. This early-reservation example shows a kite-shaped blade with rifle barrel pipe bowl and simple reverse spur. This is paired with a nice hardwood haft with burned, file branded and brass covered metal tack decorations. The center section has wrapping of some type of soft metal, possibly lead, wire wrapping. Below the grip shows some Indian tanned hide tied medicine pouch drop with wound glass trade beads, rolled tin jingle dangle cones and geometric beadwork. The beads show Cheyenne pink, greasy yellow, greasy blue, red and blue. The tomahawk has a straight flat blade and dark coloring. Nice late example from the Southern Plains, previously attributed to the Texas area. Measures overall 20-inches long and the head is 8.75-inches long, there is an additional 12-inch long drop with yellow pigment dyes on it.
