This is an original early Robinson Ransbottom 5 gallon stoneware crock. The crock features a wonderfully and professionally crafted stoneware construction with a crown and a 5 in the middle of the crown for the Robinson Ransbottom hallmark and denoting the size of the crock. In circa 1900, Frank Ransbottom and his brother started a pottery company in Roseville, Ohio to make stoneware and pottery and by 1916 Ransbottom Pottery was the largest producer of stoneware jars in America. Around 1920, they merged with Robinson Clay Products Co. who created bricks and titles with the name being changed to RRP Company. The condition of this of this stoneware crock is good with no obvious signs of damage and in good overall condition. The measurements of this crock are 13 1/2" x 12" x 12".
