This is a pair of exceptional Eastern Sioux Native American Indian beaded gauntlets from the 1890's to the 1900's. The gauntlets are made on tanned elk hide with wool trade cloth lining. Each one has beadwork of a traditional whimsical geometric pattern. The beadwork is done in glass seed trade beads with colors such as Sky Blue, Chalk White, Dark Opaque Blue, Black and more. Each cuff also has a decorative fringe. The Sioux beaded gauntlets are in excellent condition. They measure 12.25" long and 6.5" wide at the top of the cuff.
