The lot features a late-20th century pipe tomahawk in the pattern of a late-18th century Eastern Woodlands example. The piece shows a cast iron head in classic early Eastern Woodlands pattern sowing a small blade with stepped tear drop eye and vase like smooth bowl. The head is paired with a hardwood haft with under cut beveled and notched carvings and brass covered metal tacking. The head has a dark almost blue'd like coloring. The clean out plug is missing. This is a late piece done in the pattern of an old piece, but displays very well and shows nice craftsmanship. Measures 16-inches long and the head is 5 7/8-inches long.
