Featured in this lot we have an Egyptian fully beaded figural purse originating from the 1920's to 1930's. In 1922 British archaeologist Howard Carter discovered of King Tutankhamun's tomb in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. The wealth, beauty and artistry he uncovered astounded the world. Everything from fashion to architecture embraced this new and wonderful 3000 year old imagery. This beaded purse features a metal clasp with a fully beaded carry strap. The beaded bag features mural like figures similar to Egyptian wall art. The piece displays clear plastic beads and rusted metal beads. The interior of the piece displays a nice pink cloth lining. The piece shows good condition overall with some wear across the purse due to age. The piece measures 10" tall by 6 3/4" wide.
