Offered in this lot we have a Elgin 14K rose gold plated pocket watch originating from 1898. The watch is a 7 jewel, 14K rose gold plated pocket watch, produced in 1898 in the Elgin factory in Chicago. Over the course of the century the Chicago factory accounted for over half of the jeweled watches manufactured in the United States. The pocket watch shows carved floral pattern on the front and back with the front marked "E. E.". The interior of the watch is marked "7130625" in three places, "Warranted to wear permanently" and "11658588 Elgin Nat'l Watch Co. U.S.A. - Safety-pinion". The watch is in good condition with some slight signs of wear. It measures 1 3/8" in diameter by 2" long and the chain measures 18 1/2".
