This is an increasingly rare original Margot Van Voorhies Carr Taxco, Mexico sterling silver necklace from the circa 1950‰Ûªs. The Margot De Taxco Sterling silver piece shows a fine Mid-Century Modern geometric linked chain design in the ever so desirable stylings and hand crafted high-quality known by this renowned silversmith. Margot Van Voorhies Carr is considered by most to be the absolute premier silversmith to emerge from the incredibly high-quality Taxco region. The necklace is composed of fourteen of the geometric swirl links, which boast a large silver pendant. The pendant follows the same geometric motif, with sterling silver beadlet drop, and floral accents. The necklace is marked multiple times on the back with the correct light Margot De Taxco hallmarks. The piece originates from the 1940's or 1950's, and shows very good condition overall, with a warm silver patina. When unclasped, and stretched out, the necklace measures 18 1/4" long. The center plate measures 4 3/4" wide, and 2 1/2" tall.
