Included in this lot is an Engraved J. Cooper percussion pistol. This piece is a hand crafted early percussion pistol made by gunsmith, J. Cooper. The firearm is .52 caliber. The pistol is from the early 1800's and shows overall rare condition for its age with the lock plate and hammer having nearly all the original coloring, and excellent conditioned walnut hard wood. The piece has a wooden ramrod and an octagon 4” barrel. This is a Derringer large caliber small pistol styled after the famous gunsmith, Henry Deringer. The pistol has wonderful hand etched floral engraved hammer, screws, and scroll designs on the tang and trigger guard. The pistol grip has additional floral engraving. Marked on the side lock plate, “J. Cooper." The firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
