Featured in this lot we have a Ethiopian read and leather wrapped basket and lid originating from the 19th century. The basket shows traditional coil weave construction with tan colored reeds. The piece is wrapped in a dark leather that has been sewn onto the basket. The piece comes with a lid of similar construction with leather loops to keep the lid closed as well as act as a carry handle. The piece shows good condition for its age with some wear and some slight damage. The basket measures 10" in diameter and 4" tall.
