This otter pelt shows excellent condition; the individual who tanned and oiled this hide paid close attention to detail making sure to preserve important features such as paws and tail. The head is in good displaying condition and the fur is well treated and in outstanding condition. The process of attaching multiple layers of felt by way of taxidermy adhesive and than is attached by layer to the felts is called quilt tacking. This piece is well crafted and the head is mounted on a piece of circular wood that is lined in the layers of felt to give the animal its action pose with its mouth open. The Felt border is scalloped at an inch from the hide and again at two inches from the hide with a base color of yellow follows by a brown. The measurements of this taxidermy piece are 60" x 24".
