For your consideration is an original Falstaff Tin lithographed charger. Original chargers were used in kitchens and dining rooms as meat platters that, because they were bowed in the middle, could also hold gravy without spilling, which helped to keep the main dish hot until it was consumed. The early vintage piece shows two European Renaissance characters with one pouring the Falstaff beer into the others mug. A house on a hill, and ocean scene is shown in the background. This charger shows a wonderful patina and a small hole punched to hang, and some scratches from age and use. The piece measures 24” in diameter.
