Offered in this lot is a First Edition of "Old Yeller", by Fred Gipson, Harper & Brothers publishers. 1956 children's novel written by Fred Gipson and illustrated by Carl Burger. It received a Newbery Honor in 1957. The title is taken from the name of the yellow dog who is the center of the book's story. In 1957, the Walt Disney Company released a film adaptation to universal critical acclaim. Gipson co-wrote the screenplay. "Old Yeller" went on to become an important cultural film for "baby boomers," with Old Yeller's death in particular being remembered as one of the most tearful scenes in cinematic history. This green cloth bound hardcover is in nice condition, slight scuffing to cover edges, tight spine. Intact pages exhibit slight age tanning, measures 5.5"W x 8.25"L x .75"D
