This is an excellent handwoven, flat weave rug by master weaver Pedro Gutierrez. This rug was made using 100% soft, fine, handspun yarns in a beautiful First Mesa pattern. The rug was handwoven with a tight weave using 100% handspun wool yarns that offer natural variegation and durability with color fast aniline dyes. The tight, handwoven weave displays natural tones in the fine Antique Toadlena style of the First Mesa pattern in the time-honored Zapotec, multi-generational craft by a master weaver, Pedro Gutierrez. The rug shows a phenomenal 1920s antique style Toadlena, or Two Grey Hills, Navajo-like pattern with a modern twist, showing a central diamond pattern with a heathered dark brown background and three bar bands and border. It is also a styling of a Chief’s Blanket in colors of brown, cream/white, and red. The rug measures 2’ 6” by 5’ (2 foot 6 inches by 5 foot). This is a brand-new rug.
