The lot features an excellent fully beaded belt from the Flathead Native American Indians of Montana and dating to the 1950's. The belt shows a heavy tent canvas construction with trade thread sewn glass trade beaded floral pattern. The beadwork shows a chalk white background with royal blue fancy edge and Cheyenne pink, green, royal blue, semi-transparent rose, and red floral and leaf patterns. The belt shows the original Indian tanned hide ties on each end and has a nice wide size. Fully Beaded Belts from the Montana Flathead Indians are very scarce with this example showing good condition and displaying very well. At the end of the belt shows an older green museum collection identification tag that is marked "BE-JJ" "BLOO D" and "B149". Provenance: From a large Native American weapons and beadwork collection in Great Falls, Montana. Measures 31.25"L with an additional 14"L of ties by 4"W.
