Featured in this lot is a contemporary Native American Indian style pipe tomahawk with leather sheath. The piece is finely crafted of Damascus steel, making up the head of the tomahawk, the bowl, and mouth-piece. The head of the tomahawk is finished with symmetrical notches across the top and bottom of the axe head . The fine metal work is accented well by a hardwood handle, showing a rich brown finish, and additionally set off with simple, yet elegant carvings. The sheath shows wonderful deep brown leather with decorative patterns and the head of a buck pressed into the leather. The tomahawk shows very-good condition overall. The piece measures 17 3/4" long from top to bottom, 5" wide from the blade to the rim of the bowl, and 1 1/4" thick at the handle.
