Featured in this lot we have a Birmingham Frederick Williams Wells Fargo double barrel side by side shotgun chambered in 12 gauge. The shotgun was manufactured by Frederick Williams in Birmingham, England between 1887 and 1896 due to the displayed Birmingham proof marks. The shotgun is marked with a metal Wells Fargo badge on the stock reading "WELLS FARGO 20 S.F. CAL EXPRESS 1894". The piece features 20 1/4" long round double barrels, walnut stock, hammer firing system, double triggers, and marked stock badge. The stock of the shotgun is marked across the stock with a metal Wells Fargo badge with the wood stamped "STAGE SAN FRAN" on the right side and the left marked "AGENT WELLS FARGO EXPRESS S.F. CAL WELLS FARGO 20 PROPERTY S.F. CAL". The frame is marked across both sides with "F. WILLIAMS" with geometric and floral engraved designs and a medallion on each side showing a game bird design. The rib between the two barrels is marked "LAMINATED STEEL" with n front sight bead. The piece shows good mechanical condition with crisp triggers and smooth break action. The shotgun shows good condition overall with a warm patina and wear due to age and use. The shotgun weighs 6lbs. 10 oz. Serial Number: 56405. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
