For your consideration are four freight car and locomotive maintenance books from Burlington Northern Railroad, The Department of Transportation Federal Railroad Administration and Northern Pacific Railway Company circa 1905-1968. The books included are as follows - "Northern Pacific Railway Company Instructions for Operating and Maintaining Air Brake and Air Signal Apparatus" (1905), "Northern Pacific Railway Company Safety Rules and Admonitions for the general guidance and protection of all employees and the public" (1948), "Department of Transportation Federal Railroad Administration: Laws, Rules and Instructions for Inspection and Testing of Locomotives Other Than Steam" (1968) and Freight Car and Locomotive Maintenance. The books give extensive information and instructions on how to safely care for certain aspects of the locomotives, procedures, laws, rules and more. The books include various black & white illustrations, with one Northern Pacific book housing multiple fold out sections of detailed diagrams. The books show good condition overall with wear present from their age and use over the years, but no signs of obvious damage is noted.
