The lot features this elegantly hand-carved, antique Louis XV, French armoire, dating to the 19th Century. The cabinet shows all high-relief, hand-carved features with immensely detailed, curved top molding, flourishes and floral accents, and is accented by additional carvings at the corners, mirror framing edge and along the bottom. The armoire or wardrobe shows a fine, French Louis XV Rococo/ French provincial design with an 1800’s age, showing a beautiful ,solid wood and burl/ fine grain veneer in a herringbone diamond pattern. The doors show curvaceous, beveled glass mirrored doors with the original hardware. The piece is a “knock-down” cabinet and comes completely apart. Some nicks, scratches, and slight cracks can be seen due to the piece’s significant age; overall, it appears to be in predominantly solid condition. French Provincial Louis XV pieces, such as this, regularly sell for upwards of $5,000 to $7,000. Measures 94"T x 52"W x 19"D.
