For your consideration is this Frontier Bowie Fighting knife circa Indian Wars era 1800's with a beautiful single piece hilt made from Walrus tusk and showing a sleeve of silver adorning the hilt just below the cross guard. Then blade comes complete with a wonderful example of harness leather sheath that is crafted specifically to fit the unique blade shape of the Bowie Fighting Knife being large in length and showing a clip point blade shape. The Bowie knife is a pattern of fixed-blade fighting knife created by James Black in the early 19th century for Jim Bowie, who had become famous for his use of a large knife at a duel known as the Sandbar Fight. The condition of this knife is good showing a heavy sturdy steel blade with a really nice patina adorning both sides of the blade confirming and showing its age. The measurements of this this knife is 14" x 3 1/4" and the blade measures 9 1/2".
