The piece is marked "Gallatin CO-OP" pressed across the front of the can. The canister comes with its metal lid with a metal handle on each side. This kind of canister was commonly used to transport and store milk and other dairy products. The can shows good condition overall with some wear indicative of age. The jug would makes a wonderful decorative piece or small storage container.
