This is an excellent, handwoven flat weave rug by master weaver Luis Hernandez. It was made using 100% soft, fine handspun yarns in a beautiful Promontory pattern. The rug was handwoven with a tight weave of 100% handspun wool yarns, which offers natural variegation and durability with color fast aniline dyes. The tight handwoven weave displays bright, rich tones in the fine Promontory pattern of the time-honored Zapotec, multi-generational craft by a master weaver, Luis Hernandez. The rug shows a phenomenal, Navajo-like Ganado pattern, which is of the historic Lorenzo Hubbell Trading Post days of the 1800’s, with modern contemporary detail showing a cream heathered background, large diamond pattern at the center in bold lines of red, black, and cream/white, and four four-point cross symbols (one in each corner). It is finished by the bands of color on each end. The piece is brand new, in pristine condition, with a fine, tight weave. The rug measures 4’ by 6’ 6” (4 foot by 6 foot 6 inches). This is a brand-new rug.
