Featured in this lot is a German Mauser Model 1871 Gewehr bolt action single shot rifle. The rifle utilizes a hardwood stock, straight-pull bolt with flag safety, adjustable ladder rear sight with a hooded front sight, and a 32 3/4" barrel. The rifle is stamped on the back of the barrel "Erfurt F W" with crown insignias and the side of the receiver is stamped "I. G. Mod. 71.” The barrel and receiver display numerous inspection stamps with the serial number 152. The butt plate is marked "96 R. F. 527". The rifle shows good condition overall, with a smooth action, a bright bore, strong rifling, and solid bluing. The rifle does show some light handling marks to the wooden stock and some light patina across the barrel and receiver. Serial Number: 152.
