For your consideration is this set of twenty-two (22) Godfrey Phillips cigarette collectors cards circa 1927. Originally founded and developed by Godfrey Philips Ltd., London, the company was a publicly traded tobacco and cigarette manufacturer with a large global footprint. Tobacco, cigars, and cigarettes were produced and marketed by the company. Godfrey Phillips Ltd. produced a variety of cigarette cards to advertise their products, with several topics such as film actresses, animals, aircraft, famous people from history, among others. This set features 22 out of 25 cards with the missing numbers being 9, 22, 25. The cards show a coloured portrait of the named figure on the front of the card, while the back indicates what series they were from, the numbering on the card and a small write up on the figure mentioned. The cards show good condition overall with some wear noted on various cards, but no signs of obvious damage is noted. The cards have been placed in card sleeves to preserve their quality. The cards measure 1.5"W x 2.5"L approximately. When placed in their card sleeves the cards measure 2 1/8"W x 3 1/8"L approximately.
