Presented in this lot is an Original Vintage Yellowstone Park Enamel Painted License Plate Topper, circa 1940s-1950s. The image of an elk bull standing on a grassy sub-alpine slope against a blue sky background comes from 1939 water transfer decal advertising for Yellowstone National Park. Known as "America's First National Park", most of Yellowstone Park sits in the state of Wyoming, with smaller portions in both Idaho and Montana. The license topper has the elk bull standing with its head turned to the left, "Yellowstone National Park Wyoming" printed underneath it in colours of yellow and white. The license plate topper is in good overall condition, normal age and wear scratches and slight paint loss noted. Topper measures 4.75"W x 5.5"L, weight U6.
