Featured in this lot we have a Colt single action army revolver originally owned by Hank Williams Jr and chambered in .45 Caliber. The colt was custom built by King's Gun Works in Los Angeles for country singer Hank William Jr. The Pistol come with a letter from Mike Venturino of The Society of Sharps with personal account of getting the gun from Williams Jr. and its story. The custom build included the extra short 3 3/4" long barrel and Bisley style hammer. The pistol displays a 3 3/4" long round barrel, six shot cylinder, fine one piece walnut grips, case hardened and blue'd finish, and Bisely single action hammer. The barrel is marked across the left side reading "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" and marked across the top reading "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.". The left side of the frame is marked with the patent dates reading "PAT. SEPT. 19. 1871. JULY. 2. 72. JAN. 19. 75.". The pistol also comes with a custom made leather holster marked "R.M. BACHMAN FLORENCE, MT". Mechanically the revolver shows great working condition with good timing on the cylinder rotation, with a crisp trigger, and properly locking hammer. The frame and hammer display the case hardening finish with the trigger guard, cylinder, barrel, and back strap showing a blue'd finish. This is a one of a kind revolver with a great history and would make a great addition to any western collection. The colt and holster shows great condition overall with some minor wear due to handling and holster storage. The pistol and holster weigh 2lbs 6oz. Serial Number: 175145. This is a modern firearm and requires a FFL transfer or NICS background check.
