For your consideration is this limited edition reprint of, "Les Quatre Heures de la Toilette des Dames" by De Favre, originally published in 1779. This is a limited edition reprint from 1880, printed by Edouard Rouveyre and is number 205 out of 600. The work explores themes of feminine beauty, grooming, and allure in a poetic and artistic manner, characteristic of the Rococo period. The book is bound in a nice, three-quarter red leather binding with marbled boards and gilt ruling. The title is written in gilt letters and the spine has ornate gilt decorations and raised bands. One of the front pages has an illustrated dedication to the Princess de Lamballe, while the inside pages have plates with illustrations in black and white. The book shows good condition overall with wear present from its age and use over the years, but no signs of major damage is noted. Interior pages show good condition. It measures 9" L x 5 7/8" W x 5/8" D and weighs 14 ounces.
