Featured in this lot is this high back seat, Wade A-fork salesman sample saddle, circa 1920's. The original saddlery shop salesman sample most likely dates to the early 1900's and is a rare find. Wade tree saddles have a slick fork buckaroo style that is specifically built to be a working saddle and designed for handling livestock, while also offering maximum comfort during a long day in the saddle. High back saddles provide an extremely stabilizing aspect to working saddles. This sample saddle would have been used to show off the countless options a saddle maker can contribute to the right custom saddle, such as the type of harness the stirrups and latigo keepers are attached to. The condition of this salesman sample is fair, with wear consistent with the age of the saddle. The measurements of this salesman sample are 5 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 3 1/2".
