Featured in this lot is this Hopewell Tradition granite plummet aged from the Middle Woodland Period and from 100 BCE to 500 CE. There are four plummets in this collection, with the first showing a porous material and groove head and a graduated cylindrical shape graduating to the base. The second shows a larger cylindrical bi-point frame with an eyelet at the head of the plummet and a flecked polished granite material. The third is a speckled cream and light brown granite material with a groove head and a graduated base. The last is a unique, naturally shaped pours material with an oblong base that is graduated with a large eyelet at the head. The celt features a wonderfully and professionally shaped celt with polished surface and dark black and green coloration. The condition of this collection of plummets is good and well-preserved for their age, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this collection of plummets range from 3 3/8" x 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" to 4 3/8" x 2 1/8" x 1 1/2". The measurements of the celt are 6" x 1 3/4" x 5/8".
