Featured in this lot is this Hopi Indian Tradition Kachina or Kasina doll called "Mudhead" circa 1930's. The Kachina doll features a wonderfully and professionally crafted naturally dyed wooden construciton that shows the traditional red body with black loin cloth design typical to "Mudhead" Kachina dolls and is holding a dancing wand in its right hand. The bottom is signed by the artist Elmer Sautkie. The condition of this Kasina or Kachina doll is preserved with a repair to the left harm and is missing its other dancing wand or feather but otherwise shows a preserved condition. The measurements of this Kachina doll are 10" x 3 3/4" x 3 3/4". The collective weight of this Kachina doll is U4oz.
