Featured in this lot is this collection of Hopi Putsqatihu or Cradle Dolls polychrome Kasina's circa 1960's. There are three Kasina's in this collection. The three Kasina or Kachina's show flat doll design for cradles and the history behind this tradition dates back to their origin stories with the spirits of these Kasina's protecting young children in their defenseless states. The facial expressions are pleasant with frog symbols and spirit hands. The condition of this collection of cradle dolls is well preserved with slight fading to the paint but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition.
