Offered in this lot is a signed polychrome pottery jar by Hopi Irma David. Irma David is the sister of well-known Hopi artist Neil David Sr. From Polacca, at First Mesa, Irma is a traditionalist in every sense. This Hopi Pottery Jar is handmade of natural clay indigenous to the area and decorated using mineral stone paint. This wonderful jar's design is bold polychrome geometric motifs on a white burnished slip glaze. The jar is signed on the bottom. The jar measures 5 1/2" tall and 21" around, with a 2 3/4" opening. The pot is in very good condition, with one small spot of damage on the side, please see photos.
