Featured in this lot is a Frederic Remington, bronze sculpture titled "Buffalo Signal". Frederic Sackrider Remington (October 4, 1861 – December 26, 1909) was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor, and writer who specialized in depictions of the American Old West. The statue depicts a Native American hunter on the back of a horse as he holds up a buffalo hide as a signal. The figure displays Remington's wonderful, realistic art style with wonderful, excellent attention to detail. The piece is marked across the back, reading "Frederic Remington", and shows a wonderful, warm patina. The statue is set on a black marble base with a brass plaque reading "Buffalo Signal By Frederic Remington". The bronze shows good condition, overall. It measures 23" long by 36" tall by 10 1/2" wide.
