Featured in this lot is this black on red pottery vessel from Hopi Tewa potter Violet Huma born in 1930 and died in 1982. The olla features a wonderfully and professionally crafted ceramic construction as a\n olla with a red slip field and black geometric patterns in traditional Hopi design. The bottom of the olla is marked as follows: Violet Huma. Violet Huma is a recognized potter from the Hopi tribe, known for her contributions to traditional Hopi pottery. The Hopi are famous for their pottery, which is characterized by intricate designs, natural pigments, and hand-coiling techniques passed down through generations. The condition of this Hopi Tewa pottery vessel is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this pottery vessel is 3" x 3 3/4" x 3 3/4". The collective weight of this pottery vessel is 8oz.
