Featured in this lot is this collection of Hopi Tradition Kachina dancing dolls circa 1960's. There are four Kachina dolls in this collection. The first is the sun face Kachina with the tradition round segmented face and features with that shows strings of leather and wool string adorning the arms and legs and is expertly painted in Hopi Traditional colors. The next is Kokopelli Kachina dancer bent over in his traditional dance with hide lower extremity covering with geometric patterns and colors consistent with the tradition and is adorned with turkey feathers around his neck and head. The next Kachina doll is from the Zuni Tradition called a Salimopya Kachina and was typically used to to represent spirit beings and traditionally created as a teaching tool for children; with geometric patterns and coloration consistent with Zuni tradition, the Kachina is mounted on a quartered stone shield. The last Kachina doll is a Chasing Star Kachina with traditional garments and geometric patterns with coloration consistent with the tradition and turkey feathers behind its head with a tuff of rabbit fur around its neck. The condition of this collection of Hopi Kachina dolls is well preserved with two of the Kachina dolls missing adornments to their faces but otherwise shows a preserved overall condition. The measurements of these Kachina dolls ranges from 8 3/4" x 4 3/4" x 7" to 12 1/2" x 6 3/8" x 5 3/8". The collective weight of this collection is 4lb. TURKEY FEATHERS
