This is an unusual knife and sheath in the styling and manner of the American Indians. The piece shows a nice aged Elk Antler Horn and nice size grip, with the pommel end being carved dimensionally with a horse’s profile and finished with stippling. The guard top of the antler has a nice wear pattern and yellowing. The blade is a stout thick double edge dagger pointed blade with greyish coloring. The piece is paired with a sheath made of two pieces of wood, which are wrapped in parfleche rawhide and tied with the same, along with further that is completely adorned with a polychrome painted finish in bright colors of red, purple, blue, green, yellow, and the mixtures of each. The knife measures 10”L. The sheath is 7”L.
