Featured in this lot is an 1899 New Edition of "In The Land of Cave And Cliff Dwellers" by Lieut. Frederick Schwatka, published and copy-righted in 1899 by The Educational Publishing Company In Boston, MA. U.S. Army Lieutenant Frederick Schwatka became well-known for his many forays into the Alaskan wilderness, including a rafting expedition up the Yukon River that became the longest raft expedition at that time. Schwatka describes the physical features of the land he visited and the Tarahumara people and villages he encountered. The front cover features a gilded sun rising over a tall cliff, with the title and author's name all in gold color.
