Featured in this lot is this Iroquois Indian tanned hide beaded ceremonial belt, circa 1940's. The Indian tanned hide belt features a wonderfully crafted design from the Iroquois Tribe—an Indian trade cloth construction and tanned hide fringe with sinew twine strung pony and glass trade seed beads in colors of light green, dark green, chalk white, translucent, Cheyenne pink, medium red, greasy yellow, red white heart beads, and more. The design of the beaded decoration shows floral decoration in an Iroquois Tribal design. The condition of this Indian tanned hide beaded belt is good, with slight wear to the Indian trade cloth and patina adoring the sinew twined beads. The measurements of this beaded belt are 44 1/4" x 15".
