Featured in this lot we have a J. Hapgood full stock percussion cap fowling piece chambered in 56 gauge. This piece displays a 35 1/2" long round barrel, walnut full stock, underbarrel ram rod, percussion cap hammer and lockplate, and brass accents. This shotgun displays etched floral designs across the lock plate and hammer with the lock plate marked "J. Hapgood". The top of the barrel is marked with "Hapgood Boston". Mechanically it shows a working trigger and percussion hammer system with a smooth trigger. This fowling piece shows good condition overall for its age with a warm patina. It weighs 7lbs 2oz. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
