For your consideration in this lot is a J. Stevens A. & T. CO., Number 44, Falling Block Rifle, chambered in 25-20. The firearm originates from as early as 1896 to 1916. The rifle uses a blue'd 24 1/2" partial octagon barrel and a case hardened receiver. Contrasting the beautiful finish is a walnut fore-grip and butt-stock. The rifle is marked in numerous places, reading; "J. Stevens A. & T. CO. - Chicopee Falls, MASS. U.S.A. PAT. APR.17.94" on the top of the barrel; "25.20" on the left side of the barrel; "33107 on the tang; "47300" in front of the fore-grip. The rifle shows fair condition overall, with some wear and damage across the stock and fore-grip and some screws missing or replaced. The rifle shows a strong bore with healthy rifling.
