Featured in this lot we have a J Stevens Arms Co. Marksman lever tip up rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle and manufactured in the early 1900's. This rifle displays a 22" long round barrel, walnut stock and front grip, take down screw, lever tip up action, and single action hammer. The left side of the frame is marked "SECOND J. STEVENS ARMS COMPANY CHICOPEE FALLS MASS. U.S.A. MARKSMAN" the top of the barrel marked "22- LONG RIFLE" and the right side marked "TRADE MARK STEVENS REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN". The right side of the stock displays "HK" hand carved with a knife or other sharp tool. Mechanically the rifle displays a working single action hammer system with a smooth lever action tip up design and auto ejector arm. The underside of the rifle displays a take down screw that allows the rifle to be quickly taken apart into two pieces allowing for easier storage or travel. The rifle shows good condition overall with appropriate wear due to age and handling across the exterior with a small part of the front grip missing. The rifle weighs 4lbs 4oz. Serial Number: U419.
