For your consideration are two J. Stevens Arms & Tool Company catalogs and an advertisement page from 1902 to 1909. Joshua Stevens created the J. Stevens Arms & Tool Company in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts, in 1864 to manufacture affordable pistols and rifles. The company reformed under that name in 1886 and swiftly expanded to become one of the world's greatest manufacturers of sports guns. By the early 1900s, Stevens employed hundreds of people and had expanded into optics, while firearms remained the primary focus. In 1915, it was sold to New England Westinghouse to assist with World War I rifle production, and the tool division was separated. Savage Arms purchased Stevens in 1920, and it remained a lower-cost brand under Savage for decades. The two catalog booklets, both No. 51 1909 editions, are identical in terms of interior contents, with only the front covers being different from each other. The first shows a tan cover with black lettering reading, "J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. / Chicopee Falls Massachusetts U.S.A.", while the second shows a green and tan cover with an image of a man and his dog out hunting. This cover reads the same as the first but shows tan lettering rather than black. The third gun advertisement is just a piece of paper rather than a full catalog and shows a yellow color with black lettering and images. It is advertising the No. 250 double barrel shotgun at a price of twenty-five dollars on the front and the St. Joseph Motor Co. on the back. The catalogs feature various tools, parts and firearms throughout its pages and shows various illustrations to go along with the listings. They show good condition overall with slight wear present from their age and use over the years, but no signs of major damage is noted. The book catalogs measure 8" L x 5 3/8" W x 1/4" D, while the paper advertisement measures 9 1/4" L x 6 1/2" W. They have a collective weight of 14 ounces.
