J. Stevens Favorite Model 1915 .22LR Rifle

The lot features a J. Stevens Arms Company Favorite Trade Mark Model 1915 falling block or pivoting block single shot rifle chambered in the desirable varmit and target caliber of .22 long rifle (22LR). The rifle shows a factory blue finish with 24 inch round barrel having a fixed brass blade front sight and adjustable altitude rear sight. The barrel is marked, "J. Stevens Arms Company / Chicopee Falls, MASS. U.S.A. - 22-LONG RIFLE". The top fo the half octagon receiver shows the correct marks along with the Model 1915 marking on the rifle tang. The rifle features a falling or pivoting action that is controlled by the lever which doubles as the trigger guard. This particular example also shows a take down screw in front of the lever action. The rifle is in un altered factory condition with loss to the finishes and much finish retain along with worn walnut hardwoods. Serial number of F 131 most likely manufactured circa 1915-1935.
