This is an original and unusual J. Stevens A. & T. Co. Favorite Model Number 17 rolling block or pivoting block single shot rifle chambered in the rare .25 Stevens caliber. The rifle shows a half octagon and half round 22 inch barrel with fixed sights and is correctly marked, "J. STEVENS A & T CO. / CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. U.S.A. PAT. APR. 17. 94." and "25-STEVENS". The rifle shows a serial number of K59 which is marked on the lower rifle tang. The firearm also shows a hand checkered walnut hardwood forestock with matching walnut stock with no butte stock present. On the lower side of the receiver a large screw with lanyard loop is present, which acts as the quick take down screw allowing the barrel to be separated from the receiver for easy transport.
