Featured in this lot is this acrylic on canvas called "Hemis Mana or Hopi Maiden" circa 20th century by Navajo artist Jack Black. The artwork features a wonderfully and professionally crafted acrylic on canvas construction that features a Hemis Mana or Hopi Maiden Kachina that shows vibrant colors and wearing turquoise earrings. The artist signature "Black" can be seen in the bottom right hand corner of the artwork and is signed by the artist on the back of the artwork with the title "Hemis Mana." Jack is a self-taught artist who paints acrylic paintings in small and large formats of the landscapes and people of the region he has lived in his whole life. Many of his paintings depicts scenes of older days and simpler times and also old pickups, ceremonial Yeibechei dancers and Navajo and Hopi elders. The condition of this acrylic on canvas is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this acrylic on canvas is 11 1/8" x 14 1/8".
