This lot features a superb example of a British James Dixon & Sons Brass Shotgun Powder Flask. This is a beautiful decorative brass flask in uncleaned and remarkable condition with no serious dents or seam splits. These were usually paired with only the finest grades and most expensive side by side percussion shotguns. Most such flasks were plain or of inferior quality and were rarely maker-marked. This example is marked with one of the finest British maker’s names. The maker’s mark is shown on the loading nozzle. The condition of the flask is good with a slight patina. The measurements of this flask are 7 3/4" x 3 1/4" x 1 3/8".
